LANE SIGURDUR FUTZ
September 5, 1996 - July 26, 2020

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lane Sigurdur Futz.
Lane was born September 5, 1996 in Winnipeg, MB, to proud parents, Brent Edward Futz and Lianne Dee Sigurdur. Baby brother to Amanda, Lane would become the loving big brother to Kobe and Kieran.
Lane grew up experiencing a blend of farm and small-town life but always called Stonewall his home. It was in Stonewall that he received his formal and informal education. It was in Stonewall that he participated in hockey, football, baseball, and soccer. It was in Stonewall that he got his first job. It was in Stonewall that he first kissed a girl. It was in Stonewall that he grew into a dashing young man with movie star looks and a kind, gentle and generous soul. It was in Stonewall that he uncovered his passion for music and art.
Those passions would take him to Vancouver where he completed a two-year program at the Art Institute of Vancouver. Lane's favourite colours were pink and blue. His favourite number was 16. His favourite artists were Kurt Cobain and Lil'Peep. His favourite city was Vancouver. His favourite music was rap. He loved pizza and sushi and beer. His favourite dog was Hugo, his favourite cat was Willy, his favourite horse was Clarke and his favourite steer was Mitch. Lane loved dirt biking and boxing. His favourite shows were Rick and Morty, The Simpsons and Family Guy. Lane loved video games and Pokemon. Lane loved to host parties. Lane was a proud member of the Anglican Church. Most of all he loved his family and friends.
In 2017 Lane was presented with a challenge that would change his best laid plans but would not change his beautiful soul.

Lane, songs and books were left unwritten, friendships were left yearning for more but your legacy will be inspirational for all of those that loved you. Peace and love.

A service will be held on August 4, 2020. Due to the restrictions regarding Covid-19, attendance will be limited by invitation. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Gimli Cemetery, Gimli, MB and is open to all. Your attendance would be appreciated.
Donations would be welcomed by the Manitoba Schizophrenic Society.
