AUDREY ELIZABETH DUKE
At age 92, Mom was our strength and our guiding light. She will leave a giant void in our hearts and so many amazing memories. We have tears in our eyes and so much love in our hearts for this amazing, tough, but oh so soft, kind-hearted lady.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, partner in crime and best friend, Vern, in 2016. The dynamic duo is together again!
Mom leaves daughter, Karen; son, Brian (Kathy); grandson, Michael (Kathy); granddaughter, Courtney (Will); her four great-granddaughters, Summer, Ireland, Madyson and Taylor; whom she absolutely loved and adored beyond words, and our sweet Kira who is missing her immensely and keeping her spot on the sofa warm. Mom made so many friends along the way, particularly her friend Brenda Buchholz in Calgary with whom she always remained close.
Mom was an avid curler in her younger years and then took up golf and spent a lot of time on the links. She and Dad loved to travel and find out of the way spots to investigate. Mom was known around town as the hat lady, always sporting one of many western hats. She was always receiving compliments on the many colours she had. Cowboy boots were her favourite footwear, although she only liked the horsepower under her foot in the car.
As an animal lover all her life, in lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation in her name to Manitoba Underdogs Rescue.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service as per Mom's wishes. The family will hold a day of remembrance at the family home at a later date.

Addie’s puppy, Lady Brit of Brock, 1981-1994, is my connection to your mom. She was ‘Lily’ in your litter. i am so very lucky to have found The Dukes on Addison who raised an amazing puppy for me. Sincere condolences. - Posted by: Lois Melville (Labrador puppy owner) on: Aug 03, 2020
I met Audrey at the YMCA when we were both watching our grandchildren in the pool. We immediately stuck up a conversation and I knew immediately how proud she was of her family - Audrey was very proud of Ireland! She was the type of person I wish I had known better but certainly a woman you would never forget. My deepest sympathy to all of you - I am sure you have great memories to keep her spirit alive. - Posted by: Carol (acquaintance) on: Aug 03, 2020

Fly with the angels, Audrey. Remembering with laughter the times we worked the curling brooms at the sound of your whistle in the early days at Assiniboine Memorial. Fun to curl with and a great skip. Joyce MacDonald Rose - Posted by: Joyce MacDonald Rose (friend) on: Aug 01, 2020
We met your lovely parents on an Alaska Cruise In August 2009, we where on our honeymoon, second marriage. We enjoyed friendly conversations over dinner a few times, being guests at the same table. Lots of interesting tails, we where also from Winnipeg so had a few things in common. I knew your dad had passed on, he will be so happy to be reunited with your mom. Our sympathy to your family. - Posted by: Nancy & Vic Mann (friend) on: Aug 01, 2020

On behalf of Deer Lodge Ladies Curling Club please except our heartfelt condolences. Audrey was a welcome participant at many a function at the club. Her western hats were certainly her style statement. Joan Greenlay. - Posted by: Joan Greenlay (Fellow curler ) on: Aug 01, 2020
