ARTHUR RECKSIEDLER
1941 - 2020
Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife, Joanne; stepchildren, Allan (Tracey), Diana (Dave) and Kimberly (Mark); sisters, Iris (Albert predeceased), Sharon (Larry) and Jennifer (Marc); brothers, Nelson (Tannis), Ken (Brenda), Lawrence (Lise) and Garry (Brenda). Grandchildren dear to his heart: Mariah, Jordan, Stacy, Terrance, Kyla, Reid and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Destiny and Kaiden, and many other family members that Art so cherished.
Art was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Johanna who raised him and his siblings in Beausejour, Manitoba. Even though Art spent his adult life living in Winnipeg, he loved going back to the farm in Beausejour to help with harvesting and being with family. After graduating from high school, Art attended Red River College and later spent a career in the insurance industry retiring in 2003 as a Broker/Accounts Manager.
Art was a very special person who had a kind, generous and compassionate soul. To be in his company was to feel the warmth and love that he showed to everyone he met. Regardless if he knew you for years or was meeting you for the first time, he greeted you with a big, warm smile, and a welcoming "Hi, how are ya?"
To know Art you knew that he valued family above everything else. He enjoyed every moment attending a variety of activities or family functions never taking for granted the time to spend with loved ones. We will all miss the way he was able to make everyone feel special and the joy he brought to our lives. Although he is no longer with us physically, his spirit and love will always be with those he knew.
In lieu of flowers and in recognition of the staff who took such good care of Art, please donate to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.
Due to COVID, a small family service will be held. The service will be recorded for those that cannot attend.

Art was my godfather. He was a wonderful person - so funny and loving. He taught me to play baseball. He supported my education with a subscription to National Geographic on my birthday each year. My love and condolences to Art’s family. - Posted by: Fredrick Nock (Godson) on: Oct 27, 2020
