DAVID JOHN BODYKEVICH
November 18, 1957 – August 13, 2020

David John Bodykevich was born November 18, 1957, the first son to Frances and Metro. He is predeceased by his brother, Constantine. David was a bright, energetic youngster, loving adventure and always inquisitive.
His family's move to Eriksdale, MB brought opportunities for David to discover his love for the outdoors, for nature, exploring, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing.
He attended St. Vladimir's College in Roblin, MB completing his high school at River East.
David loved life and embraced challenges. He was meticulous in word and deed. He changed careers, going from entrepreneur, performing precision work on airplane propellers, long haul trucker, barber and finally, tool and die machinist, to name a few.
He had recently retired and was loving the time he now had to do whatever he liked, whenever he liked, going for a long drive, looking in on his folks, landscaping his yard, gardening, finishing the woodwork projects he had started. He was a keen photographer and archer. He loved music, played guitar as well as enjoying his music collection. He valued motorcycles as well as sports cars.
David was a wonderful brother, son, nephew, and cousin. A protector by nature, he was the kind of man to have your back. His grace, thoughtfulness and sharp humour will be missed. David will live on in the hearts of all that know and love him.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Mrs. Bodykevich, just wanted to pass my sincere condolences of the passsing of your son David and even more recently your beloved husband Metro. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. - Posted by: Adela Evanyshyn (Friend (Hope's daughter)) on: Aug 28, 2020

  • So very shocked to hear of Dave’s passing. I met Dave when I was about 20 years old over 40 years ago. I don’t think I ever became so close to anyone as fast as I did with him. He was so charismatic and you couldn’t help liking him right off the bat. We were roommates for many years at a number of different places and had soooo much fun together. We were never bored when Bodie was around. He was always up for a road trip or some kinda crazy adventure, and was the spark at the countless parties we used to attend. As much fun as we had socializing with all our friends I also so enjoyed the quiet times where his philosophical and insightful conversations kept us entertained for hours on end. Rest In Peace buddy. Your gone but will never be forgotten. - Posted by: Murray and Patti Chorney (Very good freinds) on: Aug 28, 2020

  • I had the pleasure of working with Dave at Argus Industries. He was always so friendly and easy-going. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. - Posted by: Kristine Barrett (Past Co-worker) on: Aug 24, 2020

  • Frances and Metro, we were shocked when we read about Dave. Dave and I were friends for over 40 years. We lived together in Winnipeg and Ft. St. John, BC. Dave was always a very neat and tidy guy. He had great tastes in music which we often heard coming from his room. Bodie was in our wedding party. Over the last couple of days, I’ve been reminiscing so many memories. The fishing trips, ski trips, music festivals and concerts we attended together. So much fun. Memories we will forever cherish. Rest In Peace, Bodie. We will miss you. Lenore and Ted Seniuk 💐 - Posted by: Lenore and Ted Seniuk (Friends) on: Aug 24, 2020

  • I have only memories of my old roommate. But they are happy one. That smile. That ability to have deep thoughts. I know you are in a better place Vichnaya pamyat - Posted by: Dave Chomiak (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2020

  • Fran & Metro, despite the shock & sorrow I felt when I read of Dave's passing, the trademark twinkly-eyed photo posted in his obit, immediately forced a smile onto my face. Dave was among the most fun loving people I've ever had the chance to get close to. Along with that free spirit was a deeply thoughtful person who had well informed views and was a joy to spend time with. In this sad time, please try to take a moment to reflect on the two wonderful sons that you raised in a way that no one has anything but great memories of both of them. And now they are finally reunited. We would often greet Dave with the line "It's Dave Body, not just Any Body", I will always cherish the very unique gift he was to me. Vichnaya Pamyat old friend. Heaven is an even better place today. - Posted by: Pat Kuzyk (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2020
