JOHN (JACK) LECKY

After a brief illness, Jack passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at the age of 77.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Dorene of 48 years. The Fort Rouge guy and the Norwood girl were married in August 1972.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Geri and his brother-in-law Lorne (Michelle). As well, he leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbours. Jack was predeceased by his sister Betty, nephew Randy, brother Alex and his wife Marlene, and his brother-in-law Eric.
Jack began his career in accounting with W.C. Barthel & Co. in the early 1970s and only retired five years ago from SCE Lifeworks. He was meticulous in everything he did – it had to be perfect, no matter how long it took.
Some of Jack's favourite times were golfing and fishing with Kirk and Braxton, bringing home trophies from the Pembina Curling Club, sitting at the kitchen table with his newspaper - solving the jumble and drinking his coffee (a few wins were very exciting!), and being part of family Christmas gatherings at Diane and Pat's. Most of all, he enjoyed summers at the Sandy Hook cottage with the Barthels. Working alongside Eric, he became "Jack of All Trades".
Forever grateful to nieces, Jennifer and Kim and her husband Bob. Their support for both Uncle Jack and Auntie Doe was never-ending. To the special longtime teacher friends, a heartfelt thank you for your continuous concern and compassion.
"Jack, we know that you're now looking for the perfect golf course to try out those new clubs". Soon we will be sharing Uncle Jack stories that make us smile.
A private interment will take place at Green Acres. Due to Covid-19, there will be no funeral service.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish to make a donation in Jack's memory, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9, or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
