JUDITH (JUDY) AUDREY HESFORD
April 23, 1934 – August 14, 2020

With sadness we announce that Judy Hesford passed away at home on Friday, August 14.
She is survived by her husband Ron and two brothers, Don (Claire) and Ian Wallace, as well as sisters-in-law, Anne Edmunds and Grace Moorhouse. Judy is also survived by her grandchildren, Courtney Kouk, Brett and Tyler Hesford, and by her son-in-law Larry Kouk. Judy was predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Kouk (2007) and son Michael Hesford (2011). Judy will also be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Judy was born in Toronto, but grew up in Hamilton. She met her future husband Ron in 1959 when he attended a convention in Hamilton. After exchanging letters with Ron, she moved to Saskatoon to meet Ron's family, and they were married in Hamilton in 1960. Judy and Ron started their lives together in Saskatoon, where their daughter Carolyn was born. The new family moved to Thunder Bay and then to Regina where they adopted their son Michael. They then moved to Edmonton, Peace River, and Terrace, BC before settling in Winnipeg in 1976, living in the same house for 44 years.
Judy had a smile that would light up a room. She loved playing bridge with her friends, shopping, and spy movies. She was a good neighbour and volunteered in her community. In her last few months, she enjoyed watching the crime drama show The Closer with her granddaughter Courtney. Her outstanding lasagna and chocolate cake were much requested family favourites for special occasions, and she loved hosting friends and family. Judy never wanted anything more than to spend time with her grandchildren. From going to watch Tyler and Brett play hockey, to teaching Courtney how to bake and cook, she was a source of love, strength and stability. Judy was always and unconditionally there for them.
She will be deeply missed, and forever loved.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Ron, We are both saddened to learn of your loss. The words in the Passages note were most uplifting. Judy was such a wonderful person. Feel free to reach out to your many friends like us. David & Vicki - Posted by: Vicki and David Grant (friends) on: Sep 10, 2020

  • Joan and I are so sorry to hear of Judy's passing and send our love and sincere condolences to Ron, Courtney, Brett ,Tyler and Larry. It just seems like yesterday we talked about life and the family with her. Judy (Jude) was my " big sister", my babysitter, my fashion coordinator and of course my moral supporter. I was 17 when Judy left for the West with her husband Ron and we rarely saw each other as they moved to many different places with the Bank. One summer we invited Judy, Ron, Carolyn and Michael to stay with us at our cottage on the island @ Pointe au Barile (30,000 islands). We had a great time together and cherished those days filled with wonderful memories. Judy has lived through too much tragedy with the loss of her children Carolyn and Michael but always gave courage and strength to others. Joan and I know that Judy will now be with Mom and Dad, Carolyn and Mike once again. Rest in peace Judy - Posted by: Ian and Joan Wallace (Brother) on: Aug 28, 2020

  • My sincere condolences Ron. We spent many hours watching our boys play hockey and having some great parties and travelling with the team. Judy always had a smile on her face. A great lady - Posted by: Carol Draper (Friend) on: Aug 24, 2020

  • My deepest condolences. Judy was a good friend to my mom Doreen. I recall the few times playing bridge with the “ladies” as a lot of laughter and fun. She will be missed. - Posted by: Gale Walker (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2020
