AILEEN (ELAINE) SANEK
(SUTTLEHAN)
Aileen was born March 5, 1941 to Thomas and Katherine Suttlehan (Voncini). She was predeceased by her husband, Brian Sanek in 2017. Aileen spent her life in Winnipeg and recently moved to Summerland, BC.
Aileen is survived by her daughters, Maureen Daoust (Milos) and Kelli Clarke (Scott); grandchildren, Brydon Beattie (Mia), Jennifer Ernst (Chuck), and Devin Clarke, along with numerous extended family and friends, both human and furry.
Mom was a gentle soul, and maintained a sense of dignity and strength through her journey with dementia. Everyone who knew her loved her. She always had a smile, a twinkle in her eye, and a story to tell that would have you laughing. Her sense of humour was with her to the end, as well as her love for all animals. She loved to travel and at 65 discovered she actually did like the water while in Greece.
Mom ended her working life by taking a "part-time" job at Zellers Diner in Grant Park Shopping Centre. She was always happy and smiling, and chatted up a storm with all she met. She had a knack for making everyone feel special.
Special thank you to the staff at Trinity Care Centre in Penticton for their wonderful care during Mom's short time with them and to her guardian angel, Angie, for her love and support she shared with Mom and our family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Aileen's name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
