ALLAN (DIDDY) ENGSTROM
November 20, 1933 – August 24, 2020

With his family by his side and tremendous sorrow, we announce the passing of "Diddy" Allan Engstrom.
He was predeceased by Evie, his wife of 57 years, whom he missed dearly.
Diddy is survived by his kids, Ellen (Brian) and Murray (Tracy), and grandkids, Ashley (Mike) and Brayden. Also mourning are his siblings, Webb, Cowie, Ethel, Helen and Jim.
Dad was born and raised in Kenora which is where he started his career with Marr's Marine. We moved to Winnipeg and he continued with his business partner and friend Bill Marr until he retired.
The place Dad loved the most was the camp and we all enjoyed many wonderful years there. But the true loves of his life were Ashley (AAE Jr.) and Brayden.
He also had many good years with the Longbow Lake Fire Department, Kenora Golf & Country Club and Curling Club. And of course the special friendships of Dave and Brink.
We'd like to thank the nurses of Lake of the Woods Hospital for their care and compassion.
A private family service will be held, and in lieu of flowers donation's in Dad's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Ellen, Murray and families, We are shocked and so sorry to hear of Al's passing. We have such fond memories of time spent together during holidays and at your cabin. It was so lucky for all of us to have been neighbors and close friends. Hopefully you feel some comfort knowing how fond we were of your Dad and Mom. Much love from all of us. - Posted by: Loretta Maley, Janet and Grant (Friends) on: Aug 30, 2020

  • Have not seen Al in a number of years but the family ties and memories are as strong as ever. Fishing, boating and visiting were always a highlight growing up. We will miss Al as much as we do Evie. Our sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Rick and Shirley Engstrom (Cousin) on: Aug 29, 2020
