Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Dear Gittins Family, my deepest condolences to you all. Growing up with Scott always meant lots of time on Woodlawn, hoping to go for a swim but always not until the grass was cut and the pool cleaned. Dave always made sure the chores were done before the fun was had, a lesson learned and still used today. I remember getting into a little trouble, and Dave took me aside and gave me some valuable advise on what the consequences of my actions could have been, based on his own experiences. I never thanked him for that advise, even though it was something I thought of many times. Thank you Dave! A fantastic man that raised a great family, you will be missed. • My Deepest condolences to the entire Gittins’ clan. “Dave” will be remembered as a down-to-earth neighbor and hockey coach. GOD Bless you all. - Posted by: Andrew Pugachev (Scotts’ Schoolmate) on: Sep 04, 2020

  • Dear Haldeen and your family, Bill and I wish to tell you how sorry we are to hear about Dave's passing. Woodlawn will never be the same without a cheerful honk and wave as he goes down our street. We are thinking of you all. Penny and Bill Rannard - Posted by: Penny Rannard (neighbor) on: Sep 03, 2020

  • Our deepest sympathy to the family on Dave’s passing. Worked with Dave on Northern T/L project. - Posted by: Don & Heather Chennells (Co Worker) on: Sep 02, 2020

  • Condolences to Haldeen and family on your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Dave on northern projects back in the 70s and 80s and he was an excellent mentor and friend. Dave loved entertaining his friends and there was not a piano or guitar that he would not play if he spotted one. I am saddened today to get the news. May David rest in peace. - Posted by: John Gislason (former co-worker) on: Aug 29, 2020

  • Dear 'Auntie' Haldean, Scott, Todd, Colleen and families, I am so sorry to hear about 'Uncle' Dave's passing. It's been many years since we saw you last, but I have many wonderful memories of our families' times that we spent together. I remember the many good times we had around the bonfires and the many songs we sung while Uncle Dave played guitar. I know that my dad and Tim were waiting there at Heaven's gates to welcome him with a big hug. Rest in peace, Uncle Dave. • Seeing you enjoy the backyard pool during those great moments with the Vics. The memory of the scavenger hunt starting from your home and the many memories of playing hockey with your sons and daughter. Thanks for making me feel part of the family, my condolences to the family and prayers for your soul Dave that everyone's thoughts and prayers guide your soul to the light into the Kingdom of Heaven. - Posted by: Rene Rousseau (Friend) on: Aug 29, 2020
