It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Roger Gauthier. He was our beloved brother, uncle, son, friend and cousin. Roger passed away peacefully on August 23 at the age of 57.
Roger was predeceased by his mom Lorraine on July 9 of this year. He is survived by his father Lionel, his brother Don (Shari-Lynne) and his sister Denise (Danny). He will also be sadly missed by his niece Kayla (Stefan) and his two nephews, Justin (Danica) and Jeremy (Courtney). As well as his very special friends, Bonita and Emile and their fur babies.
We all have a special place in our hearts for Bonita and Emile for being such good friends with Roger and treating him like family. Roger cherished both of you with all his heart. Bonita was Roger's best friend, soulmate and book end that loved him to death and cared for him from the beginning, to the end. It is very rare to see a bond between two people like Roger and Bonita. Roger will always have you in his heart and we are so grateful you were a huge part of his life.
Roger had many jobs over the years but his favourite place to work was at Magikist. He was a hardworking and extremely dedicated employee that loved going to work and the people he worked with. We would especially like to thank Jen and Micah for going above and beyond. You are both wonderful, caring people.
Our family would also like to give our sincere thanks to Bill for taking Roger to all his chemotherapy appointments. He cherished the talks that the two of you shared. Also thanks to Sharron for sending over wonderful meals that Roger enjoyed immensely.
Roger was in great spirits and was always joking around with everyone right to the very end.
Huge thank you to CancerCare Manitoba and to the unbelievable staff at Riverview 3E. He looked forward to the chats with the nurses and aides when they came into his room and always liked handing out his chocolates, but never his baking.

We love you Rog, rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
In accordance to Roger's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family gathering to follow.

  • I haven't seen Roger for quite a while and was sad to hear of his passing. I worked with Roger quite a few years ago and it was a pleasure to have known him. He was a hardworking guy and never complained about some of the dirtier jobs he was tasked with. Always smiling and a great attitude. Glad to have known him.
