EMILIO CAPUTO

Mr. Emilio Caputo died peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, August 27, 2020, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 78.
Emilio is survived by his wife of 53 years, Angela, as well as his children, Cinzia and Davide, and his grandchildren, Alex and Aidan.
Emilio was born on January 27, 1942, in Cosenza, Italy to Teresa and Giuseppe. After finishing school and a short stint in the army, Emilio's spirit of adventure brought him to Canada. Angela soon followed, and shortly thereafter they married and had Cinzia and Davide. After moving to Winnipeg, Emilio became well-known in the construction industry as one of the city's finest tilers, bringing thousands of kitchens and bathrooms to life across the city.
Emilio was a generous, sociable and witty gentleman. A legend in his neighbourhood, he made friends wherever he went. He was a passionate soccer fan and loved watching his grandchildren playing sports. Emilio was the life and soul of any party and will be remembered for his dancing and his endless sense of humour.
The funeral will be held at Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday, September 1 (10:00 a.m. viewing; Mass at 11:00 a.m.).
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

  • We were very sorry to learn of Emilio's passing. We first met him through Cinzia who was our next door neighbour at the time. We had some damage to our main bathroom and Cinzia recommended Emilio to fix the tilework. We were so impressed with his friendly can-do approach to the job, the superb workmanship and just what a personable man he was in subsequent times we met him through being neighbours with Cinzia and her family. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Bill & Val Atkinson (Friends) on: Aug 29, 2020
