JANET ELIZABETH WALTERS
(nee MACDONALD)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet, with her husband of 66 years by her side, on August 28, 2020, at the age of 90 years, at the Grace Hospital.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Darwin (Shorty) Walters, her daughter Cindy Baeta, granddaughter Afia and great-grandchildren, Kenya Dennis and Mekhi Downie; nieces and nephews, Linda, Gordon, Sharon, Donald and Douglas, as well as her great-nieces and nephews.
Janet was predeceased by her grandson Taafa, her parents, Alexander Macdonald and Lydia Danielson, her sister Lydia Sangster, brother Bernard Macdonald, and nephew James.
Born June 28, 1930, she was a birthday present to her older sister Lydia who was also born on June 28. Janet was married to Shorty on May 29, 1954. She moved from Winnipeg to Toronto in 1965 and moved back to Winnipeg in 2008.
Family would like to thank the staff at Oakview Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion.
Viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2 at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Interment will take place Friday, September 4, 2020, at Elmwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
