Peacefully on August 29, 2020, Iris June Park (nee Arnett), aged 89 years, beloved mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at St. Joseph Auxiliary Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Edmonton, Alberta.
Iris leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kim (Nancy), Robin Tetreault, April DeCarle (Glen), her grandchildren, Doug (Ang), Robert (Janice), Chris (Jaylyn), Dan (Leslie), Darryl (Lindsay), Joey (Alex) and Kayla (Kyle), her great-grandchildren, Brittany, Taylor, Ethan, Trinity, Emberlyn and Kaden, her brothers, Frank Arnett (Diane) and Allan Arnett (Margy), her sisters, Marg Thompson and Jo Arnett, also her aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her very dearest friend Vicky Bell (Rob).
Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Doug, her son Timmy in infancy, her parents, Mildred and Francis Arnett, her brother-in-law Jim Thomson, her son-in-law Yvon Tetreault, and her great-grandsons, Andrew and Francis in infancy.
Iris was married to her beloved husband Doug for 56 years before his passing in 2007.
Mom started working at Eaton's downtown as a elevator operator eventually working her way up to become a sales person and then shoe manager at Eaton's Polo Park until her retirement in 1977. Mom volunteered at Wayoata school as a teacher aide for a few years.
In 2011, Mom moved to British Columbia and resided there until February 2018, at which time we moved her to Spruce Grove, Alberta to be closer to her family where she resided with her grandson Darryl.
Mom cherished most of all being with her family, and spending time with her friends.
Immediate cremation has taken place.
Due to Covid 19 a private family graveside service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Carman, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
A special thank you to Adele, the nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital, Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care of our mom and the kindness they showed to our family.
