BEVERLY JUNE PAUKOVIC

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bev Paukovic (nee Tinkler) on August 29, 2020, at Health Sciences Centre MICU, with family at her side.
She is survived by Dan, her husband of 33 years, daughter Lauren, son Jason; sisters, Marilyn (Ed Sloane), Cathy (Greg Sneyd), and families.
Bev was born May 9, 1960 in Winnipeg. She lived in the Riverview area and attended Churchill High School. She worked in retail for Canadian Footwear, Reitman's, Hudson Bay Optical, to name a few, and also worked for MTS as an office assistant. Once Bev married and had children she became a stay at home mom. From her early teenage years it was obvious that Bev had a gift for looking after children, so once her own children were old enough she began a home daycare business. For almost 20 years Bev helped look after, and nurture many children, always with the appreciation and love of the children, and their parents.
Bev was a true dog lover, so there weren't many years in our home where dogs weren't part of our family. Bev loved them all, but had a special spot in her heart for our chocolate lab Ozzie.
Later in life Bev's love for dogs prompted her to start a hobby where she made beautiful leather dog collars, which she sold at local markets.
Bev was most happy throughout life when she was spending time with family and friends at the family cottage her parents built at Star Lake. Whether she was water-skiing, tanning on the dock, going for dips in the lake, picking blueberries with her children, nieces and nephews, or fishing with her husband, nothing could compare to her happiness when she was there.
Bev was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and aunt. Her beautiful smile, kind and beautiful soul will be missed dearly by us all.

  • Dan, Lauren, and Jason, Bev will hold a special place in my heart forever. Leaving your child with a stranger to go back to work is one of the most difficult things a mother can do. I hope she knew how much it meant to me (and I’m sure many other parents of children she cared for through the years felt the same way) to be able to trust that not only was Barrett being cared for, he was being nurtured. Thank you for sharing your mom with us, Lauren and Jason. She was an incredible woman. Much love, Amber and Barrett - Posted by: Amber Barrett (Friend ) on: Sep 11, 2020

  • Growing up on Clare Ave. Bev was one of my closest childhood friends. Our birthdays are only 2 days apart so there would be much discussion over date, time and invitees every year. We had to plan so we could be at each others parties. Although the years and miles have separated us, I always hoped we would cross paths on one of my infrequent visits to Winnipeg. My condolences to both the Tinkler and Paukovic families. - Posted by: Joan (Chantler) Hatch (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2020

  • Dear Dan, the Paukovic and Tinkler families. We are so sorry for your loss. While the years had separated us, Bev and I spent many hours together growing up as next door neighbors. She was a wonderful friend who became a wonderful woman. I always enjoyed our impromptu meetings over the years. May you find peace in your memories. Thinking of you, Ellen and Bob. - Posted by: Ellen Ford (Friend) on: Sep 07, 2020

  • I spent a lot of time with Bev in High School, in fact, I found pictures of us taken in those little kiosks! All black and white of course! I also spent time with her at Star Lake, where I "attempted" water skiing, it was all a hoot. She was a beautiful and amazing person. Even though I haven't seen her in years, she has never been forgotten. Danny and family, all my condolences at this time. If there is anything at all I can do to help, please contact me. - Posted by: Carolyn Semenchuk (Former school mate of Bev & Dan ) on: Sep 06, 2020

  • Bev was such a bright light for us and our 4 small kids years back in the ‘70s. She and the family certainly enjoyed their time at the Lake, and would come by to say Hi on occasion. Thinking of you all as you carry her in your hearts. All the Bakers. - Posted by: Judy Baker (Friends from Star Lake ) on: Sep 06, 2020
