CARLA JEAN HEMBROFF
Carla will be missed dearly by her daughters, Kendal (Mathieu) and Tanya (Mike); grandchildren, Garrick and Rielle; sister Lori-Ann Hacking (Dave) and special friend Ryan Sandulak. She was predeceased by her husband Jim and parents, Thomas and Bernice.
Carla was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended Grant Park High School where at age 15 she met the love of her life, Jim, whom she married in July 1971. Carla and Jim enjoyed the early years of their marriage raising their two daughters, participating in curling and other sports, and hosting many family gatherings. After the kids "left the nest," their time was enjoyed boating at Winnipeg Beach where they formed many lasting friendships.
Carla had a diversified career working at Great West Life, Saan Stores, Western Glove Works, Winpak and Superstore. After Jim's passing following a long illness, Carla was fortunate to connect with a former schoolmate, Ryan Sandulak, at a high school reunion, with whom she spent her final years.
The family would like to thank the WRHA Palliative Care team who helped the family take excellent care of Carla during her illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held during the summer 2021 at Winnipeg Beach. Memorial donations may be made in Carla's name to either the Manitoba Lung Association or the Bruce Oak Recovery Center.
