ALEXANDER STEEL HUME
April 30, 1938 - August 30, 2020

Peacefully, with loving family by his side, Scotty passed away unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Centre on August 30, 2020.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Lynda, his beloved children, Janice (Dan Brandson), Dale (Audra), Scott (Val), and stepchildren, Jeffrey and Randa Campbell. Grandpa Scotty will be greatly missed by Stephen (Ali), Chantal (Tino), Janelle, Kamille, Alexander, Grace, Jordyn (Mike), D.J., Kelsie (Mikael), Cody, Taylor, and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh-Rae and Sebastian. He will also be missed by his children's mother Vera (Alex), extended family members, co-workers and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandson Morgan in 2003.
Scotty was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a young man. After settling in Manitoba he began a life-long career with Manitoba Pool Elevators. Scotty was an avid sports fan and while living in Oakville, MB during the 1960s and 1970s he successfully managed the Oakville Seals of MAHA intermediate hockey, winning many championships. He loved watching the Winnipeg Jets and the Blue Bombers.
Scotty spent many memorable years at Pye's Landing enjoying boating, fishing, socializing and being the unofficial handyman in the camp. His shed was affectionally known as "Walmart". Whatever anyone needed, you could always find it in his inventory.
Scotty was an honest and hard-working man who would freely offer his help to neighbours and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kathy, Bonnie, Brian, Kim and Graham for their friendship and help these past years.
Also a big thank-you to Elizabeth of E.J. Coutu and Co. for her kindness and understanding.
In accordance to Scotty's wishes, cremation and a small private family gathering has been held.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations may be made in Scotty's name to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Parkinson Society of Manitoba.

To our beloved Scotsman:

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warmth upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until
we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

We will love you forever,
miss you for always.
