DELLA THERESA LAVALLEE
March 5, 1927 - August 31, 2020
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond, whom she married at St. Ignatius Church, Winnipeg in 1947. She was also predeceased by her four sisters, Leona, Blanche, Cecilia and Jonelle, as well as her brother, Philip. Della is survived by her two sons, Gregory and David (Karen) of Winnipeg, as well as by her daughter Marlene of Toronto, and by her two granddaughters, Cheryl of Calgary and Teresa of Toronto.
Della was a prolific and successful gardener all her life. Always kind and generous, she shared the fruits of her green-thumb, brightening the homes and gardens of friends and family from coast to coast. Closing the garden in the fall, Della delighted in her preparation for the Christmas season, with a spectacular winter wonderland which she lovingly created throughout her home in St. Boniface.
Although Della lives on through her entire family, she will be forever loved and missed.
Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Actionmarguerite and Kildonan Personal Care Home for the dignity, friendship, and compassionate care given to Della, our mother and grandmother. She was loved by all.
In keeping with Della's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.

Dearest Della, I have thought of you many times through the years. Your smile and positive, determined personality were such beautiful qualities that you shared with me. I will never forget you or your children. They loved and I am confident still love you with their entire hearts. You will always be in my thoughts, Della. Hi Mom, I hope your beautiful red Fall Mums are doing well in Heaven. I still have the original plant at our home and it seems to be doing very well. I promise I will nurture it until it comes back to life, as it seems to be doing right now. I promise I will share it with Marlene, David, and all your family, friends and caregivers once it blooms. Raymond will be glad to see you. Now you can finally rest. I will see you soon. Unless I go the other way! Love you always, Your Son, Gregory - Posted by: Greg (Son) on: Sep 23, 2020
Dave and family, I am so sorry for your loss! I'll never forget your mom when we were kids chasing Dave with that wooden soon. Sending my love! - Posted by: Steve Logan (Friend) on: Sep 22, 2020
I got to know Della thru my Aunt Helene. Della and my Aunt were neighbors on Hamel. Della taught me a lot about gardening and plants. My yard has many of Della's plants that she so generously shared with me. She was a kind and sweet lady. Sorry for your loss❤️ - Posted by: Jackie Scott (Friend) on: Sep 16, 2020
A truly lovely person. I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to spend time with Della. Many laughs and “strolls” down the hall. And oh my, such quick wit! I’ll never forget her ❤️. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Amanda (Caregiver) on: Sep 14, 2020
