JENNIFER CHARNLEY
February 7, 1949 - September 6, 2020
Jennifer died peacefully on September 6, 2020, at Health Sciences Centre.
Jennifer was the beloved recipient of a network of caregivers for who she has an abiding love and devotion. This feeling was returned in abundance by long term caregivers, Delia Simon (primary caregiver), Adelaide Ebreo, Gina Closas, Josefina Bolado and Marietta Servin. Also, Rosita Felipe who has since retired.
These ladies had become her family with whom Jennifer enjoyed many outings, restaurants and parties. Delia, Jennifer and Nancy were great friends who had so much fun together.
Although bound by a wheelchair and cerebral palsy, Jen was a keen observer and communicator of everything around her. She loved her life and was able to remain in her own home until her death. She was never alone.
Jennifer is survived by her sister Nancy, as well as several cousins scattered across Canada. Her parents predeceased her by several years.
At this time, we would like to acknowledge the unconditional love, support and guidance of Jim and Vikki McLachlan, Guy and Joan McLachlan and Margot Denny of Vancouver.
Thank you to Independent Living Resource Centre who oversaw and coordinated Jen's care, and to all others who played a part in her life.
Thank you to the Emergency Department at Health Sciences Centre, Ward GB 3rd Floor (Health Sciences Centre). They provided care and sensitivity in the last days of Jennifer's life.
Cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held.
A beautiful soul,
"flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

Always welcoming, always positive, Jennifer never failed having a firm and well thought out observation or opinion in discussions. She may have been wheelchair bound, but Jennifer was more energetic and engaged in life and the events of community and the world than many people. Her beautiful spirit was a gift to everyone who knew her. She is with her mother and father now, wrapped in their enduring love. - Posted by: Erika Kinn (Family friend) on: Sep 12, 2020
