January 16, 1944 – September 5, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, at age 76, on September 5, 2020. After a courageous battle with cancer, he went home to be with Jesus.
Klaus will be deeply missed by his son Bruce Trampe (Shelly); daughter Karen Chorney (Todd); his wife Ghislaine; grandchildren, Lindley White (Dave), Jessica Smith, Ashley Trampe, Matthew, Brandon and Jennifer Chorney; great-grandsons, Logan and Dylan White; and numerous family and friends.
Klaus was predeceased by his wife Rita; his parents and sister Erika Saunders. Klaus was born in Berlin, Germany and immigrated to Canada at the age of 18 to be with his sister. Klaus owned his own thriving upholstery business for many years until retirement. He enjoyed travelling to many places around the world. He also enjoyed travelling in his motorhome and spending his winters down south. Klaus was very musical and enjoyed singing, playing guitar and yodeling and loved entertaining people.
A private Celebration of Life will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Dad, it's been a little over two weeks since we lost you. I look at your picture with your infectious smile and caring eyes and it makes me wonder if you're still watching over me as you always did from far or near. It brings a tear to my eye as I reflect back on all the great memories that were made with such wonderful parents. I can't thank you enough for always pushing me to be the best that I can be and to never give up. I read through the comments and I so much agree that you were a generous, sensitive, kind heated man. May you rest in peace knowing that you were a great father, a father that taught me to be proud and independent while knowing that I could always count on you if I needed you. You and Mom will be missed and never forgotten. We will meet again, until then...I love you dad! - Posted by: Bruce (Son) on: Sep 23, 2020

  • My condolences to family & friends of Klaus; he was a very gifted man. I met him in 1994 and we performed together with Rita in a number of places; it was a great time of it. He always gave it his best in life and it showed in his accomplishments. He loved his wife and children and after disaster happened with Rita passing on he met, fell in love with his new wife Ghislaine Lavergne Trampe. All of Klaus's people, he owns a corner of our hearts. The hardest thing to do in life, is to say goodbye to a loved one, since it is always too soon. As has always been with the Faith; there was once upon a time and then it becomes, we will see you later. - Posted by: Frank (Friend) on: Sep 13, 2020
