ANNIE (ANNE) CHRISTENE PENNER
(nee FEHR)
August 1, 1938 - September 5, 2020

With her loving daughters near, Anne Penner passed to the arms of the Lord on Saturday, September 5, 2020. After years of health issues and pain she has, at long last, found the peace she so richly deserves.
She was born in Gladstone, Manitoba to Cornelius and Jessie Fehr on August 1, 1938. She came to Winnipeg with her family at the age of 13. Anne spent a large portion of her working life with Eaton's, Amplitrol and finally MTS. She was active in the Duke of Kent Legion - Ladies' Auxiliary, St. James Presbyterian Church and in the Social Committee at her apartment building. Despite not having a formal education, Anne was a very intelligent and insightful person. She was a voracious reader and lover of all types of music. She was a generous and wise person and was happy to share her perspective with all those seeking her counsel. Anne also enjoyed crafting, particularly crocheting and knitting. She often donated blankets to those in need. Her kitchen was her happy place, cooking a great homemade meal and listening to her music.
After years of failing health, Anne spent her final months at the Deer Lodge Centre in Lodge Seven. Words cannot describe how amazing her care was, we could feel the love that the staff had for her. The family would like to thank everyone there for devoted attention to Anne and for the support given to our family. The staff made an impossible situation as good as it could possibly be.
Anne leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Henry Penner. Also her children, Dawn (Leonard) Kardashinski of St. Clements, MB, Dan (Louise) of Kamloops, BC and Tami (Brian) Karsin of Fisher Branch, MB, as well as several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, John and Melvin (in infancy); and sisters, Mary and Marg.
Cremation will take place through Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Due to the current health situation, a memorial service will be planned for a time when people can safely gather.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Deer Lodge Foundation.
