Mom was predeceased by her husband Raoul Paul in 1986, her son Adrien, parents, Marie Rose and James Cook, brother Howard, infant sister Laura, and son-in-law Randy Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter Tina Johnson, sons, Aime (Diane) and Paul; daughter-in-law Brenda; grandchildren, Danielle (Duane), Marc, Aime Jr., Michael, Krystal, Jenny, Kent, Darrin (Candace) and Shawn (Keri), eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis Collerette, and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her fur babies, Buddy and Big Boy.
Mom was born on September 18, 1926, in St. Ambroise, MB. She moved to Winnipeg in her late teens and worked at St. Boniface Hospital as a nurses aide.
She married Dad in 1946 and they moved back to St. Ambroise. Adrien was born soon after. Two years later, they returned to Winnipeg. Tina was born and Aime and Paul followed.
After the family was complete, Mom worked at Shores Grill for many years and did catering at the Winnipeg Police Association.
Mom kept an active life. She enjoyed her bowling well into her 80s. Bingo was another favourite activity. She also enjoyed the horse races.
Mom lived in her home from 1950 to her passing. Mom was known as Auntie Irene to all the kids in the neighbourhood; and knew they were always welcomed in our home.
Mom we love and miss you. Until we see you again in our forever home, know you are always in our thoughts and prayers and we will love you forever.
Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)
To the Poirier Family Deepest sympathies to all Irene’s loved ones. My first memory of Irene is going to her house with Phyllis and she had at the ready hot roast beef sandwich with gravy and fries. In later years Irene was my always willing companion to go visit mama - love the stories that were told. - Posted by: Andrea G (Cousin) on: Sep 26, 2020
