Stewart (Jack) Couling, born February 12, 1930, in Medora, Manitoba, passed peacefully September 1, 2020, in Langley, BC, at the age of 90. He was a caring, friendly gentleman with a quick wit and a sparkle in his eye.
The son of Bruce and Edna (nee Barnett) Couling, Jack grew up on the family farm in Lauder, Manitoba. He taught school briefly like his mom and sisters before heading to the big city of Winnipeg. He worked for the Power Commission, married loving wife Edna, from Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, started a family, became a Credit Manager and off they went to Coquitlam, BC; Georgetown, Ontario; Altona, Manitoba; back to Winnipeg and finally to Sidney, BC before retiring close to the family in Langley, BC. Companies worked for included Moore Business Forms, Friesens Printing, Westfair Foods and Fleming Printing. Jack made friends easily everywhere they went and had a life rich in friendship. He loved curling, hockey and golf and could beat you at crib and crokinole right up to the end.
He was predeceased by wife Edna and son Gord in 2013. He is sadly missed by sister Donna (Bill), daughter-in-law Rose-Marie, daughter Sandie (Ron), son Ted (Jackie), grandchildren Ryan, Jeff (Tiffany), Jill (Chris), Trevor (Heather), and great-grands (of whom he was immensely proud) Everly, Cooper, Patton, Tenley and Maelle, plus many dear nieces and nephews.
Rest in peace, Dad and Grandpa. We love you and are forever thankful for your caring and support.
A small gathering will be held for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
