KIMBERLY TERESA KOZAR
(nee DUFF)
May 21, 1961 - September 5, 2020

It is with heavy hearts and sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Kimberly Teresa Kozar on September 5, 2020. Kimberly Kozar passed peacefully in her home at the young age of 59.
Kimberly loved and lived for her family and her four boys. She leaves behind her husband Slavko, sons, Joshua (Cheryl), Luke (Olivia) and Matthew (Ainsley), parents, Marlyn and Edward, mother-in-law Kristina, brothers and sisters, Kathy (Ken), Allan (Karen), Kelly (Brian), Myles (Shannon) and Angela (Tim), brothers-in-law, Leo (Barb), Joe (Kari), Frank, and sisters-in-law, Dragica (Colin) and Ivanka.
Kimberly grew up in Winnipeg attending Pierre Radisson Collegiate while spending countless hours as a live-in nanny to many families. Working with children was always her passion. She later began her career with MTS Communications Inc. in 1979. She met the love of her life in the summer of 1982 and often referred to him as her Kowie. After the birth of their first son, Kimberly would dedicate her entire being to remaining at home with the family while tirelessly battling Lupus.
Kimberly will always be remembered for her infectious smile, upbeat personality, her giving heart and ability to brighten any room. She could often be found surrounded by her Yorkie puppies over the years while reading the latest Nora Roberts novel. Kimberly's passions included crocheting future baby clothes, blankets and dolls, gardening and collecting antiques. She took pride in the home her and Slav spent countless hours renovating and building while recently celebrating the last of their sons "leaving the nest".
A viewing ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please RSVP to (204) 233-4949 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A private family service will be held on Monday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed from Desjardins Funeral Home - http://distantlink.com/dlm65.html (password - ARBOR2020). Kimberly will rest peacefully at St Vital Cemetery.
The family thanks all for their condolences and thoughts during this difficult time.
If desired, donations may be made to Lupus Canada.
Kimberly was the most beautiful soul and was taken far too early but God had other plans and we know she'll be looking over us and continue to guide and love us as she always had - He got one of the best. Mom, we love you dearly and you will never be forgotten, we will continue to make you proud and honour your memory.

We'll see you again, "li'l mama" xoxo

MY MIMI

I wish I could see you one more time
come walking through the door
But I know that is impossible
I will hear your voice no more.
I know you can feel my tears
and you don't want me to cry
Yet my heart is broken
because I can't understand
why someone so precious had to die.
I pray that God will give me strength
and somehow get me through
As I struggle with this heartache
That came when I lost you.

Forever in my heart.
We meet to depart and
We depart to meet

YOUR KOWIE

  • It is true what has been said Kim had a smile on her face all the time . It could be months or even a year that’s past and we could just start talking like no time had past . Kim and Slav were lots of fun to be around . We spent time at New Year’s Eve celebrations and a few years watching our sons play hockey together . Kim loved her boys and especially her lil puppies . • I met Kimmy back in the 70s and 80s when we worked together at M.T.S. She was always the kindest person and a caring friend. After I left MTS to have my family..Kim and I would run into each other at the Dakota Sobeys or out walking. She always had a beautiful smile and loving stories of her boys. She and I suffered from Vertigo and had plenty of strange tales to tell each other. I know she will be missed hugely. What a sweetie..such a loss. xxx - Posted by: Eileen Findlay (Friend) on: Sep 19, 2020

  • What a beautiful tribute you wrote for your beloved wife & momma. Kim was indeed a beautiful soul. She radiated love, kindness, warmth & empathy. To be in a room (or hockey rink as we used to be together in often back in the day!); meant you would most definitely be enveloped with a comforting & welcoming feeling that truly is hard to convey. You will just know what I mean, if you too were as lucky to have been in her presence as I was. I loved knowing your lil’ lady & I I’m so sorry she’s been taken from you all. She IS undoubtedly an angel now and forever watching over you all. You are in my(our) thoughts & prayers. If you should ever need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out. So many are sharing in your sorrow & loss. Take care & much love. Rest In Peace Kim. 🙏🏼❤️Jenn Radomsky & Family (Chad, Kassia, Matt & Juleah) ❤️ - Posted by: Jennifer (Friend) on: Sep 19, 2020
