JUDY MAE BANAS
Judy was a wife of 53 years to Leonard; mother to David (Kim) and Dawn (Eric); grandmother/bobbi to Travis (Gen), Tanner (Andria), Noah, Cadie and Zoe; and great-grandmother to Gabby and Parker. Judy is survived by her brother Tim (Carol); and nephews, Tim Jr. (Tracey) and Sean (Joanne). She was predeceased by her mom Dorothy; dad Frank; and brother John.
Judy's life was dedicated to her family. She loved to care for others and that kindness extended to all. Once you stepped into her home, you were treated as family. She was an avid gardener, a great cook and created the most beautiful painted crafts. She loved music and dancing and most of all, laughing. She had a wonderful sense of humour. One of her last requests was that she did not want to be remembered in sadness, but with joy and laughter.
Thank you to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba for their kindness. We would also like to thank the palliative care team and home care workers who allowed us to keep her at home where she belonged.
Judy's wish was to be scattered with her family among the trees and flowers she so loved. She will live on forever in the beauty of nature. A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or Cancer Care Manitoba.

Judy Banas, you and your brother Tim made my three years at Rivergate Estates a bearable job. Lots of laughs, lots of good memories of Judy at her desk always smiling and laughing. I believe it was Judy that got me hooked on crossword puzzles during lunchtimes, and I have never stopped. I also still have her recipe for potato pancakes that I make from time to time. So sad to hear of her passing. My deepest sympathies to Leonard, Dave, Dawn, Tim and your families. I will keep you all in my thoughts and I will always remember Judy with the greatest fondness. - Posted by: Alan Cox (co-worker from many years back) on: Sep 19, 2020
