MATTHEW WEGIER (MATT)
Born: Dec 24, 1980
Date of Passing: Sep 16, 2020Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory
December 24, 1980 - September 16, 2020
Matthew was born December 24, 1980 and raised in Winnipeg by Laurie Chabidon (Wes Robinson) and Glenn Wegier along with his sister Jayme.
Matthew was predeceased by his grandparents, Andy Chabidon, Carl and Bernice Wegier, and his best buddy Charlie. He will be dearly missed by his aunts and uncles all who have great stories to share and memories to cherish .... and by so many friends from all walks of life.
Growing up, Matthew's winters were spent playing hockey with his friends on the St. Boniface North Stars and Southdale Lakers. Many happy memories were also made snowboarding at Springhill. His summers were spent at Lester Beach where he made many lifelong friendships.
In more recent years, Matt enjoyed spending time with his nephew Quinn and niece Ruby out at Nanny and Wes's...and of course his shenanigans with his beloved Manny cannot be forgotten.
Matt judged no one and would give you a place to lay your head if you needed a rest and food to warm your soul, even if he at times was struggling. He found beauty in so much and his creativity allowed him to fashion treasures out of something most would consider trash.
Matt's smile lit up the room. His sense of humour will never be forgotten and may all memories of him make you smile.
Due to Covid 19 a private ceremony will be held with his family.

I spent many years playing hockey and lacrosse with Matt when we were kids, he lived across the street from me as well. Though we weren't close as adults Matt stands out in my memory, he was one of funniest and most cheerful kids I ever met, his laughter and smile were larger than life My deepest condolences... - Posted by: Blair Rajotte (Childhood friend/neighbour ) on: Sep 26, 2020
