Remaining to cherish Anni's memory are her son Steven and daughter Nell (Ken Corley), grandchildren, Graham Ududec, Alana Ududec (Matt Brown) and Evan Corley, great-grandson Hale Corley (the light of her life), friends and caregivers, Lori Broadfoot and Clark McCaw, and her sister Herta Maucourant (Jean) in France.
Omi, as she was known to everyone, had a heart filled with goodness and love for everyone she met and every animal that crossed her path. She unconditionally and fiercely loved her family, and those she adopted as family on her journey through life. And what an eventful journey it was; from growing up in Second World War Germany to immigrating to Canada and travelling the world with husband Val. Anni loved to spend time knitting and sewing but her great passion was creating beautiful quilts for family and friends. She was a wise and wonderful woman who lived well and was truly contented with what life offered her.
Most of all Steven and Nell would like to express their deepest gratitude to Clark and Lori for making it possible for Mom to stay in her own home until the end. Anni loved you, and so appreciated your care.
COVID-19 restrictions dictate that no public celebration of her life can be held at this time.

Nell I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. It has been many years since we have seen each other but I do think of you often. Every time I drive by your old apartment block on Pembina I remember being so warmly welcomed into your family home just for being your friend. I hope that you cherish all your special memories of your lovely Mom and that your family brings you solace and peace today and always. I've met Anni on several occasions, visiting Lori and Clark. Her beauty and her passion did not fade in her old age. I loved how she was the master of the kitchen, whipping up meals (Clark documented her making some of her 'old country' specialties), or how she would sit on the porch or in the back garden with her beloved dogs at her beck and call - that was a mutual admiration society - or how she would sit as the Matriarch in Lori's amazing garden overlooking the abundance. - Posted by: Sandy Rubinfeld (friend of Lori and Clark) on: Oct 02, 2020
I had the privilege of knowing Anni and her family at an earlier time in my life. She was loving, caring, and always kind. I have many happy memories of spending time with the family including Christmas Eve around their dinner table eating the most delicious meat and potato salad that Anni made for special occasions. I still use her cheesecake recipe to this day! The world was blessed because she was a part of it and I know she will be dearly missed. My deepest sympathies to Steven, Nell, and their families. - Posted by: Judy Nichol (Friend) on: Oct 01, 2020
Nell, Steven & family, I was very sorry to read about the loss of your dear mother. Although she will always remain with you, her physical passing will be painful. You will be in my thoughts. Margot MacInnes - Posted by: Margot MacInnes (Friend) on: Sep 30, 2020
I met Anni at Alana's 18th birthday party, and so began a beautiful friendship. After a bit of trouble for Lori, Alana and I, Anni took us in, dogs and all... and over time she came to need us as much as we needed her. It was a privilege to be able to. pay her back in small measure. I miss her terribly. - Posted by: Clark McCaw (Friend) on: Sep 30, 2020
She was a nice lady with love for animals that I shared. People like that are loss to humanity. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Scott Miner (Neighbour ) on: Sep 30, 2020
