I was so sad to find out that my friend, Alex, had died. I had not heard from him in many years. When he lived in Huntsville, AL, he and I were yard sale buddies. He taught me so much about things to look for and we loved finding estate sales. He taught me a lot about antiques and we never failed to stop at atleast one antiques store while out on a yard sale spree. He was a joy to be around and I miss our yard sale adventures. Rest in Peace my friend, you are missed. - Posted by: Colleen fryer (Friend) on: Jul 17, 2022

Alex was a Soul so rare to find. When I arrived in Florida as Postdoc at U of Florida, he was my 'friend-philosopher-and guide' although I am an Economist. For him, my life became so enjoyable and lively in a place like Gainesville --a University town. I was much younger to him and I respected him like my father whom I lost during my PhD. When I got married, I got his advice. He is still there within us to tell us--how to be a nice person in this ruthless world--to make us feel better. May his Soul Rest in Peace. Deep sympathy to family members and utmost regards, Professor Gouranga Das - Posted by: Gouranga G. Das (Friend and His life-long student, Admirer) on: Aug 02, 2021
