Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Gerda always extended a smile and a helping hand as she enjoyed closest family, family/friend occasions, and varied social activities, and took pride in her nursing and administrative career. There is much to admire and to grieve as we celebrate her full and active life. Posted by: Charlotte Werner (cousin) on July 10, 2021 - Posted by: Charlotte Werner (Cousin) on: Jul 10, 2021

  • Rest in peace dear Gerda I was blessed by the opportunity to work with Gerda at Tache Nursing Centre in the late 1970's and early 1980's. She was supportive, helpful, understanding and encouraging. Good humour was a big part of any interaction. At the time I was a young, inexperienced and overwhelmed allied health care professional and she was the Director of Nursing. The lessons from Gerda are a part of later successes in my career. It was an honour and a privilege to have had known Gerda. Stephanie Fingerote - Posted by: Stephanie Fingerote (co-worker) on: Nov 01, 2020

  • I knew Gerda from my mother in-law when Gerda was a resident in Sterling House. She reminds me of my mom back home in Indonesia. She told me some stories about her life before she retired. I wish I could spend more time with her. I will always remember her sparkly eyes. - Posted by: Imas Jackson (Friend) on: Oct 28, 2020

  • My friendship with Gerda started 60 plus years ago when we started nurses training in Yorkton. She was my bridesmaid when I married Merv and we have stayed in close contact throughout the years. I send my deepest condolences to you Tracy and Laurie - you had a great Mom and a great friend - Posted by: Vanji Laube (Friend) on: Oct 05, 2020

  • I was shocked to hear of Gerda’s passing. She was a good friend of my sister in-law, Aileen Leung. Also, we were friends of George Holden, and that is when I met Gerda. Gerda was my go to person when my husband was in Meadowood. She had retired then, but we had many wonderful chats. My thoughts are with you, and may you cherish your many wonderful memories. , - Posted by: Pat Leung (Friend) on: Oct 05, 2020
