1949 - 2020

It is with deep sadness and sorrow to announce the passing of John "Skip", aged 70  on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
He will be forever missed by his wife of 47 years, Gail, brother-in-law David Puhach (Judy), nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Irene, who was a British war bride, and Wally "Johnny" Leah, father and mother-in-law, Boris and Olga Puhach, and sister-in-law Pat Jeppesen.
The family affectionately called him Skip and as an only child he had a very close relationship with his parents and especially enjoyed working on many projects with his father. Great pride was taken in his vehicles that were always kept immaculate; everything he owned had its' place. He was a very easy individual to get along with, was caring and compassionate, both of which showed in his soft smile and warm eyes. He took great pride in his home, having gained a work-hard ethic from both of his parents. John enjoyed building things, fishing, golfing, bowling, working on model trains, and travelling, especially to England to visit his cousins. His career began with Pioneer Electric (now known as Pauwels Canada), Superior Envelopes and in his semi-retirement worked part time at Auto Parts Central. The ultimate joy and love in John's life as he grew older and faced so many physical challenges was his wife Gail. Often he would tell those of us who visited that being married to Gail was the best decision of his life.
Cremation has taken place, interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
