MacDONALD: Donald Allan MacDonald, October 10, 1948 - July 19, 2020. Donald Allan was born in Brandon, MB on October 10, 1948 to parents Donald and Leona MacDonald. Allan's arrival was preceded by his older sister, Barbara Anne. He completed high school at Killarney Collegiate following his elementary schooling in Ninette. Upon graduating from a Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Manitoba Allan worked in the hotel business. He spent several years in Victoria, BC before returning to his Ninette home to care for his mother. Allan was proud of his Ninette home and was content living near Pelican Lake. For the past number of years Allan lived for half of the year in Saint Lucia where he enjoyed his winter home. Being a fan of the heat he had found comfort in the Caribbean. Allan passed away on July 18th at the Tri-Lake Health Centre in Killarney. He leaves to mourn his passing his sister Barbara Anne, brother-in-law Jim, and nephews Tim and Jeff. Allan leaves a special friend and neighbour, Catherine Stenger, who will miss her best friend. Allan's family values Catherine's faithful friendship and compassionate care in his final days. A private graveside memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in Allan's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba.
