HUTTON: Agnes Marion. Peacefully on January 9, 2009, our mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 91 years. Marion was predeceased by her husband, James in 2001 and her daughter, Debbie in 1973. She was the last member of her family, surviving her sister Gertrude Henderson and her two brothers, Austin and Joseph Chalmers. Left to mourn are her two sons, Donald (Sharon)and Murray (Judy); grandchildren, Traci (Robert) Priestly, Christal (Jason) DeBaets, Craig (Joanne) Hutton, Michael (Sheila) Hutton and Scott (Melanie) Hutton and fourteen grandchildren all of Winnipeg. There are several nieces and nephews surviving. Marion was born on December 6, 1917 at Hayfield, Manitoba to John and Mary Elizabeth Chalmers. She spent her early life on the family farm. Following the death of her father in 1935, she and her mother moved to Brandon where she met and married her husband Jim in 1941. Her life in Brandon was full and complete, raising three children while participating in church, school and community activities. Marion also enjoyed many activities especially with the YMCA, playing bridge, golf, ice skating and dancing. She and Jim also enjoyed many winters at their mobile home in Weslaco, Texas. Marion was active in her church, Knox United in Brandon for over seventy years and was particularly involved with her United Church Womens unit. She also volunteered many hours at the Brandon GeneralHospital. Marion moved to Winnipeg in 2007 to be closer to her family and resided at River Park Gardens until her death. She had a long and happy life with her family close by and she took pride in them. She always enjoyed hergrandchildren and great grandchildren being close to her. Her family would like to thank the staff of River Park Gardens for their care over the past one and one half years. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, January 14, 2009.
