LANGMAN: The death of Vivian Jean Langman, beloved wife of Gordon and dearmother of Darlene (Ron) Leslie, occurred in Brandon on Thursday, January 29, 2009. Vivian was born at Souris, Manitoba on April 25, 1927. She was raised on the family farm at Bunclody, Manitoba. On July 12, 1947 she married Gordon Langman and enjoyed 61 years, 6 months and 17 days together. Vivian attended grades one to nine in Bunclody, Manitoba, and then completed her education in Carol, Manitoba. She attended Business College in Brandon. Vivian raised her two daughters and then worked at the Brandon Regional Library until her retirement. She belonged to the "Bunclody Long-time Friends", a group of friends from the Buncloudy area that maintained their friendship throughout their life. Vivian's life revolved around her family and involved activities such as camping, traveling, and family get-togethers. Her pride and joy were her granddaughters: Shannon and Sheri and more recently the birth of her great-granddaughter, Ava. Vivian is lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon; daughter Darlene (Ron) Leslie of Winnipeg; granddaughters Shannon Leslie (Dave Bray) of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Sheri Fisher (nee Leslie) (Jason), of Brandon and great-granddaughter Ava Lynn Fisher, also of Brandon. She is also survived by sisters-in-lawBeryl Moar (Gordon) of Kelowna, British Columbia and Anne Spain of Brandon; brother-in-law George Langman of Mexico. Vivian was predeceased by her father and mother Jack and Sadie Spain; daughter Deborah Lynn Langman; and one brother Norman Victor Spain. In keeping with Vivian's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Vivian may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9. The family would like to thank Dr. Vlok and the staff at the Assiniboine Centre on 200 (Rehab) and 300 (Palliative Care) for the professional and compassionate care that they extended to Vivian.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
