Caroline met and fell in love with Russell Loucks of Delta, Manitoba. They were married on November 4th, 1950. Through the years of 1953–1961, Caroline and Russell chose their four children, Andrew, Susan, Jane and Bridget to complete their family. Caroline and Russell also welcomed into their family several foster children throughout their early married years. In addition to raising children, cooking for hired hands, baking bread, knitting fish mitts and darning socks, Caroline would also sit by Russell's side cork, and leading fish nets. Between milking cows and scraping muskrat hides she would still find time to make her knitted crafts for the church bazaars. Caroline loved knitting, gardening, reading, collecting and making dolls, crossword puzzles and a stimulating conversation. She called a spade a spade, was stubborn when she needed to be and was loved and respected by all who were welcomed into her home. Caroline had a great sense of humor and an extraordinary memory.
