YURCHUK: Michael Yurchuk, November 21, 1930 – February 24, 2009. Michael Yurchuk passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2009. Mike was born on the family farm near Arran, Saskatchewan in Nov. 1930. Mike moved to the Comox Valley in 1965 and worked as a mechanic for the Ford and Nissan dealerships until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Val Pearson and his daughter, Linda Yurchuk of Kelowna. Many thanks to Dr.’s Silcox and Swanson, Assent physiotherapy and the many home support workers who helped Mike over the past few years. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at his home on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. A donation in Mike’s memory may be made to the local Humanes Society.
