ADAMSKI: On Saturday, February 21, 2009, Frank Michael Adamski passed away in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 79 years. Frank was born in Brandon, Manitoba, on March 23, 1929, to Peter and Rose Adamski. He was predeceased by his sister Mary and brothers Walter (Amelia), John (Susan), and Mike (Joyce), and is survived by his brothers Thomas (Ramona) and Stan (Virginia). In Brandon, Frank attended Central Elementary, Earl Haig Junior High and Brandon Collegiate. In 1949, he went to Brandon College and later to its affiliate, the University of Manitoba, where he graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science (General) and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. On his return to Brandon, Frank worked at Johnson’s Drugs on Rosser Avenue. He later moved to Vancouver and, in the 1980s, to Coquitlam. Frank worked at many pharmacies and drugstores in the metro Vancouver area, including Woodward’s, The Bay, St. Paul’s Hospital and Riverview Hospital. Frank was an active volunteer in his church, but it’s the tremendous love and generosity he extended to his family and friends for which he will be remembered the most. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon, Manitoba. Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, Brandon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
