HARDY: Janice Elizabeth (Kurtenbach) Hardy, beloved wife of Clair Hardy, passed away on March 10, 2009 at age 71 at the Assiniboine Centre. Janice was born in Cudworth, Saskatchewan on October 25, 1937. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Clara, and her sister Nadeen. She is survived by her husband, Clair, and her children Darren (Marsha) Hardy and Darlene (Darcy) Carlisle and grandchildren Dawson and Taylor. She is also survived by her brother Don. Janice spent her first 14 years in the Cudworth district, and her family relocated to Souris in 1951. She worked in various businesses in the Souris area. She married Clair on August 4, 1972. They farmed in the Belleview district until 1981, when they relocated to the Nesbitt district. In 2005, they moved to Brandon where they were currently residing. Janice loved spending time with her family, and traveling around North America with Clair. She also loved her Tuesday shopping trips, and in more recent years looking after her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family, who were by her side as she fought her three month battle with Leukemia. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare and the Assiniboine Centre for their compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
