KUFFLICK: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Gertrude Kufflick (nee Meadows) at the Souris Health Centre on March 29, 2009 with her family by her side. Evelyn was born on a farm south of Griswold called “Happy Land”. The family hopes that Evelyn is back in Happy Land along with friends and family who have previously passed on. Evelyn was a hard working woman, working along side her husband Frank on their farm raising a family of four. Evelyn and husband Frank retired from the farm and moved to Souris in the fall of 1975, but sadly in the fall of 1976 Frank passed away suddenly. Evelyn being an independent woman that she was took her drivers test at the age of 60, and was offered a job at the Robinson Store in Souris. Many special memories are remembered by her family. Evelyn was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother who never seemed to change in her appearance, she always looked to us like a “million dollars”. One never phoned Evelyn on a Tuesday as it was her bingo night. Evelyn was very special to her family and friends who will never forget happy memories of times spent visiting with her. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Frank, daughter Noreen (Sowiak), brothers Mel and Ivan Meadows, son-in-law Jack Green and grandson Darcy Brister. She is survived by her daughters Marion (Green), Joyce (Gerry) Boudreau, son George (Joyce) Kufflick; grandchildren, Wayne, Brian (Brenda), Donald (Melanie) Green, Christy (Bret) Wiste, Kerry Brister, Keith (Myrna), Ken Sowiak, Dennis, Trevor (Jackie), Vicki Kufflick. Great-grandchildren, Mathew and Jenna Green, Kalena and Jara Green, Bailey and Jenner Wiste, Kayla Brister, Alison and Steven Kufflick, Chalene Kufflick, Jared and Devon Sowiak; great-great-grandchild Kylee Kufflick. Our Mom and Gram K will be sadly missed.
