McKINNON: Marjorie Grace McKinnon (née Goodwill), beloved wife of the late Jack McKinnon, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on April 1, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Marjorie was born on September 11, 1929 at Souris, Manitoba. She worked at several jobs before starting work in 1965 at the Brandon Mental Health Centre as a library technician. She worked there until her retirement in 1992. Marjorie is survived by her son Jack (Marcella) of Brandon, daughter Marjorie (Rick) Shledon of Courtenay, B.C., granddaughter Tammy (Brad) McKinnon of Kitchener, Ontario, grandson Jason (Evangeline) Wilkes of Vancouver, B.C., granddaughter Tricia McKinnon of Medicine Hat, Alberta, great-granddaughter Cassie Charles of Medicine Hat, Alberta, great-grandson Jeremy Wilkes of Puyallup, WA, USA, great-granddaughter Catlyn Wilkes of Vancouver, B.C., sister Evelyne Roony of Souris, Manitoba, sister Dorothy (Allister) Johnston of Thunder Bay, Ontario, plus numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Jack McKinnon, parents Bill and Minnie Goodwill, brothers Bill, Jim, John, and Ross, and sisters Mabel, Bella, Irene and Leona. Special thanks to the nurses and support staff on the Palliative Care floor at the Assiniboine Centre for all their professional care and thoughtfulness and thank you to all our family and friends who helped in her time of need. In keeping with mom’s wish, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Alexander Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marge may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, “Palliative Care”, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.
