CAMPBELL: Shirley Ethel Campbell (née Ailsby), late of Brandon, passed away suddenly at the age of 89 years. Born in Wawanesa and raised on the family farm in Treesbank, she attended high school in Glenboro. Shirley married John Campbell of Nesbitt, Manitoba in 1947. In their early married years they were active in horse jumping. Before becoming a mom, Shirley worked for the Manitoba Telephone System in Wawanesa. She thoroughly enjoyed activities with the Unit V women’s group at Knox United Church in Brandon. Shirley loved her yard and her garden. She had many pets over the years, including a Scotty dog named Tony, and generally cared for all creatures of the animal kingdom. Shirley was predeceased by parents Charles Nevel and Ethel Josephine Ailsby, husband John and her grandson, Chad Charles Campbell of Regina, Saskatchewan. Shirley passed away together with her youngest son, Harley Campbell. She is survived by her son Colin (Janis) of Regina Beach, Saskatchewan, grandson, Ryan Campbell, of Regina, SK and Ryan’s mom Mona Campbell of Winnipeg. A joint Service of Remembrance with her son Harley will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Cathcart officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Wawanesa Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
