HOPE: After a long struggle with a variety of health issues, Larry Donald Hope - lifelong resident of Brandon, born November 26, 1960, passed away April 10, 2009. As a child, he attended school with his friends and loved to run and play with his brother and sister. After completing school, Larry moved into his new home with Brandon Community Options where he would make good friends and enjoy new and wonderful experiences. Over the years, Larry liked biking, swimming, skiing (water and cross country), music (mostly country), the family cottage at Ditch Lake and the company of his many loved ones. Larry's gentle and loving soul brought out the very best in people andwould inspire the love and affection of those around him. When he was ill, his hospital room was constantly filled with the love and laughter of all of his many friends and family. Larry is survived by his parents, Dawn and Alan Hope; brother Warren (Karen); sister Sandy (Randy); nephews Jordan and Cody Hope; niece Lindsay Affleck; Aunt Bev, Uncle Adam; cousins Danny and Leslie and their families. He was predeceased by Aunt Irene and Uncle Hugh Austin and his cousin Scott Austin. The family wishes to thank Dr. Visser, the nurses on 400, and especially Lynn, for all of your support and words of wisdom as well as those on the Palliative Care Unit. Thank you to the wonderful staff of New Life Health Services, who worked with Larry while in the hospital. We must again thank all of Larry's wonderful B.C.O. family who have given so generously of their time and hearts over the years. We would like to add a special thank you to Allan Dickey, Larry's friend and urn-bearer at his service as well as eulogists Brenda Elmes and Hanna Wurtz. The Ceremony to Celebrate Larry's Life was held at Memories Chapel, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Rev. Harvey Hurren of Trinity United Church officiated. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
