ODONNELL:Mrs. Phyllis ODonnell of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Mr. Wm. Percy ODonnell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Phyllis was born on January 28, 1917 in Treesbank, Manitoba. She married Percy ODonnell on April 10, 1939 and together lived throughout Manitoba until 1979 when they moved to Coaldale, Alberta. Phyllis loved to quilt and sew and was a master with her sewing machine. She also loved to write especially short stories and poetry. She loved being a member of the Coaldale Arts and Crafts Clubs and also enjoyed her many hours of volunteer work. Phyllis is survived by her 5 daughters Dorothy (Mailon) Marshall, Carol ODonnell, Louise (Larry) Sheppard, Colleen (Philip) Perrett, Kay (Dick) Allison and one son Roger (Christy) ODonnell; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her beloved husband Percy, Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, and a great-granddaughter. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Martin Bros. Riverview Chapel, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Canon James Robinson, officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the CNIB, 410 Stafford Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 2L2 or to the Sunny South Lodge, 1122 20 Avenue, Coaldale, Alberta, T1M 1L4.
