MILNE: Eleanor Elizabeth Milne, 1943-2009. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Donald Barrie Milne, his daughter Katherine Milne, his mother Frances Milne-McKeown and his two step-daughters, Patty Sansregret (Gene) and Michelle Lapoint, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A thank you to Dr. Aljafari, also nursing staff for special health care at Gimli Hospital. A thank you to all the special home care supplied for her needs at her home for the past year. Eleanor (known as Miss Eli) requested she be cremated and buried with her mother. A private ceremony was held at the gravesite at Brookside Cemetery. The funeral service was held Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrooke St., Winnipeg. The service was officiated by Pastor Bernie Unrau of New Life Baptist Church of Teulon, Manitoba. Donations for those who wish, may be sent to Interlake Women’s Resource Centre, Box 1991, Gimli, Manitoba, R0C 1B0, a favorite charity of Eleanor’s, one of the founders of “Miss Eli’s Place.”
