BILINSKI: Michael Bilinski passed away peacefully at the Rossburn Personal Care Home on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Mike is survived by his two sisters; Nellie Belinski of Winnipegosis and Helen McFadyen of Edmonton, Alberta along with many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Bilinsky, brothers; Andrew, Paul, Nick, Peter, Steve and sisters; Anne, Lena, Teenie and Doris. Mike served in the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII. Following his service, he returned to his home community of Vista where he farmed for several years before moving to Brandon. Mike was a carpenter for CFB Shilo before his retirement. Mike liked to keep busy and continued to work as a handyman. He was an active church member with a strong faith. Before his illness, he attended McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church in Brandon. The funeral service was held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Rossburn Alliance Church with Pastor Ruben Artavia officiating. Interment followed in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Vista. Pallbearers were; Arnold Semchuk, Leonard Belinski, Richard Bilinsky, Ken Belinski, Darren Bilinsky, Ray Bilinsky. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. A special thanks to the staff of the Rossburn Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Rae’s Funeral Service of Shoal Lake and Erickson were in care of arrangements.
