GRONA: Michael Grona, of Brandon, passed away in the city, on Monday, June 1, 2009. Michael was born at Rama, Saskatchewan on September 26, 1920. He was the eldest son born to Wasyl and Julia (nee Tabin). Michael attended Boxmoor School in Rama before serving overseas from 1942 to 1944. He farmed with his parents in Saskatchewan until moving to CFB Shilo, Manitoba, where he was employed as a transport driver until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 3. and enjoyed gardening. Michael was predeceased by his parents Wasyl and Julia; nephew Ernest; and niece Sylvia. He is survived by his wife June, and family; two younger sisters Olga ofInvermay, Saskatchewan and Joan, of Toronto, Ontario; nephews: Ken and Chris; nieces: Veronica, Theresa, Valerie, and Criss. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Saturday, June 6,2009 (today) at 11:00 am. The Very Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Mike to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th Street East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 7M6.
