NEARING (HANULA): Olga, born Brandon, Manitoba June 18, 1916, died May 21, 2009 at the home of her son John in Scarboro. Olga was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Hanula, brother Walter, husband Patrick, brother-in-law Frank Worthington and grandson Danny Nearing and great grandson Kyle. Olga left Brandon at an early age but returned to Brandon during the war years when her husband served overseas. After returning to Toronto she visited her parents as often as she could accompanied by her husband and sons. Olga had a strong work ethic, working for Brigdens in Toronto for 30 years. She always had a garden and loved to cook, especially traditional Ukrainian dishes. After retirement she visited all over Europe and Mexico. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons, John (Patricia), Scarboro; George (Sharon), Sault Ste. Marie; two sisters, Stella Hanula, Toronto and Gladys Worthington, Brandon, Manitoba; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens. Our sister did not aspire to what the world calls great things or greatness. She accepted the simple, quiet, gentle joys that life offered and did her best to bring up her family in the way they should go. She taught them tolerance, fairness, kindness, generosity, honesty and truth. To work hard and to care for others. She was a great mother and a great sister!Vichnahya Palmyath, Memory Eternal, Vichnaya Palmyath
