INGLIS: Dorothy Bell (née Drummond) passed away suddenly at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on July 6, 2009. Dorothy was one of four children born to James Milton Drummond and MaryAnn Joynt of Kenton on August 22, 1922. Dorothy's schooling was cut short due to a childhood illness, however she recovered fully and lived a long and healthy life. Dorothy went to work after raising her children, cleaning houses and her last place of employment was for Cancade Fire Restoration where she met and made some very dear friends. Dorothy knew her husband Roy all her life as they lived in the same area and went to Verity School together. They went their separate ways for awhile and met up together in Brandon where they married March 3, 1947. Dorothy was pre-deceased by husband Roy, her parents, brothers John Drummond, Harold Drummond and sister Marion Gould (Dan). Dorothy is survived by sons Raymond of Brandon, Don (Patty) of Moose Jaw, SK, Garth (Debbie) of Rapid City and daughters Fay Houle (Leo) of Rapid City and Sharon Richardson (Murray) of Douglas. She has 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed curling and later on in life picked up golfing but her main focus in life was her children. Dorothy's children will remember her warm heart and her unending acceptance of life. Mom was the glue that kept the family together and will be sorely missed. Special thanks to Dr. Maier who always had extra time and took special care of Mom as she was one of Dr. Maier's first patients. Thanks also to Dr. Bookatz and the staff at the Western Medical Clinic and Brandon Regional Health Centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice. Dad passed away February 4, 2009 and their wishes were to be buried together. At a private family ceremony, Mom and Dad will be laid to rest in the Veteran's Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
