JACKSON: Wayne Edward died peacefully at home on June 20, 2009. Wayne was born in Erickson, Manitoba on October 10, 1956. He grew up in Onanole, Manitoba and completed his high school at Erickson Collegiate. Wayne started dating Laurie McInnes on Waynes 16th birthday and they have been soul mates ever since. They were married at Clear Lake on May 31, 1980 and their love was made complete with the birth of their only daughter, Sheena, in 1985. Wayne and Sheena had a very special bond nurtured by several years of his staying at home to parent her. Cars were Waynes thing. His jobs often involved cars, from pumping gas for his dad from the age of 14 to his first job in Brandon at Brandon Chrysler Dodge, initially in the parts department, then service and finally sales. In later years, Wayne sold cars for Radics Chrysler Jeep. He was always buying and selling vehicles starting with a red convertible Ford Falcon. Wayne worked for several years as a courier with Gelco and eventually started his own business, Waynes Unique Novelties, selling housewares and over the counter drugs to small businesses throughout rural Westman. Wayne sold Real Estate at Century 21 and at Martin Liberty Realty. Many of Waynes ventures were partnerships he forged with his brothers. Waynes latest job was what he described as his dream job, driving school bus. He hadnt been able to drive for the past year but he was still getting calls from kids he had driven on his bus. Wayne lived to travel, whether pulling a trailer, driving a motor home, honeymooning with his in-laws, flying to vacation spots like Mexico, Florida or Las Vegas, or looking up the possibilities on the internet, it all pleased him. Wayne enjoyed watching sports and had season tickets to the Wheat Kings for almost 20 years. During this past season, even in his weakened condition, he would still insist on going to the games, even if it was only for one period. After a 26 month battle with cancer, which included trips to the Mayo Clinic and 3 trips to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton for experimental Theraspheres treatments, Wayne died peacefully at home with Laurie, Sheena, Shelley and Kevin talking with him and holding him until his heart fluttered its final beat. Wayne was as easy going in death as he was in life. Wayne is survived by Laurie and Sheena; brother Larry and his partner, Wendy; brother, Calvin and his wife, Vivian; sister-in-law Shelley Serle and her husband, Kevin; brother-in-law Cam McInnes and his wife, Arden; Lauries parents, Les and Betty McInnes and his nephews and nieces, Chase Jackson, Brett and Dylan Serle, Kelsea and Torea McInnes. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Mabel Jackson. A Celebration of Waynes Life was held in Central United Church on June 25, 2009 with Lawrence McInnes, Brockie Donovan Funeral Celebrant, officiating. Memorial gifts in Waynes memory may be made to Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation (Home Care), 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
