HYNDMAN: Nyall Dennis, of Brandon, father of David (Glenda), Dennis (Pat) and Ken (Sharon), died peacefully on August 1, 2009 in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. He was decorated with the Military Medal for bravery in the field. Nyall married Margaret Adams on July 6, 1946 in Rapid City, Manitoba and the couple moved shortly thereafter to Winnipeg. Nyall left to work in the mine in Flin Flon in the fall of 1947, and Margaret and their infant son joined him in the spring of 1948. They then moved to Brandon the next year, ultimately to Rivers in 1987 where he resided until July 2008 when he moved into Victoria Landing in Brandon. He was an avid golfer. He especially enjoyed golfing with his sons in their annual golf match, played over many courses throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan over a 23 year period. He also enjoyed traveling with Margaret around southern Manitoba on the “5-in-9” golf tour, playing many courses and making many new friends. Nyall had an easygoing manner which allowed him to make friends with virtually anyone. The service to celebrate his life was held Friday August 7 at the St. James Anglican Church in Rivers, with Ven. Paul Curtis officiating. His son David delivered a touching eulogy as a tribute to his father. Readings were given by great-granddaughter Jordan Hyndman, granddaughter Miranda Hyndman and granddaughter-in-law Alexandra Goojha.
