HARRIGAN: Ruby. Suddenly, on Sunday, November 22, 2009 Ruby passed away at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, Manitoba at the age of 79 years. Ruby was born in Roblin, Manitoba to Joseph and Myrtle Steffler and the family lived in Roblin for several years and then moved to Dauphin, Manitoba. Ruby attended school in Dauphin and worked at several places in Dauphin that included the Dauphin Creamery; Central Meats and the Manitoba Telephone System. It was when Ruby was living in Dauphin that she married Pat Harrigan. When Ruby moved to Brandon she worked at Sunnyside Golf Course. Ruby became the owner of Sunnyside Golf Course in 1990 and resided at Sunnyside Golf Course until the time of her death.Ruby enjoyed curling and golfing and was very good at playing cards. Ruby loved spending quiet time putting together jigsaw puzzles and working on crossword puzzles. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and especially being able to celebrate holidays with them. Ruby is survived by her only child, daughter Pam Harrigan and husband Ike Friesen; her grandsons, Tyler and Codi Harrigan- Friesen and her granddaughter Devon Harrigan- Friesen; her brother Brian Steffler, his wife Bev and their children Kristen and Danny; and her sister Grace Stewart. Ruby was predeceased by her granddaughter Nicole; her mother and father, Myrtle and Joe; and brother-in-law Joe Morrison.The urn bearers were grandchildren Tyler, Codi & Devon Harrigan-Friesen.Cremation took place at Memories Chapel in Brandon, Manitoba. The funeral service took place at Riverside Evergreen Chapel in Dauphin on November 27, 2009 with Pastor Scott Allen officiating. Internment followed at the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery.
