MEADOWS: Barb Meadows (Wyness) of rural Minnedosa passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Born March 29, 1957, she was raised and educated in Rivers, Manitoba, along with her two sisters and her brother. At her high school graduation, she was presented with the Congeniality award. She then moved to Brandon to begin work at the Brandon General Hospital. During her career, she was employed in the departments of Emergency, Pediatrics and Pre-op Clinic. In 1980, Barb married her lifetime love, David Meadows, and began a second career in farming. Blessed with two sons, she had to wait a number of years before the arrival of a daughter. Barb led an active life with family, gardening, quilting, and curling. For the last three years of her life she fought a courageous battle with cancer.She is survived by husband David, children Danny, Andrew, and Emily, mother Erma Wyness, sisters Linda Atkinson (Rod) and family, Deby Murray (Dave) and family, brother Rob Wyness (Val) and family, and sisters-in-law Janice Duffy (Robin) and family, Sharon Turner (Gordon) and family, and Linda Brown (Al) and family. Barb was predeceased by her father John, and father and mother-in-law Reg and Betty Meadows. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews Derek Nylen, Curtis, Clark and Steven Atkinson, Scott Wyness, Jaye Murray, Drew Brown, Braden Wyness, Kristin Murray, Skyler Brown, and Ashleigh Duffy. Interment will be held at a later date.
